the ingredient she’s looking for is most likely ambergris. aka sperm whale vomit! well, more like something produced in their bile duct that they sometimes expel from their mouths. it has a really nice sweet, musky smell to it. it’s a really expensive ingredient but the scent can be recreated with synthetic molecules. while it makes sense for HER to be interested in ambergris and it IS a very expensive ingredient irl, i don’t know why it would be show up in an auction house if ppl aren’t aware of its use in perfumery. so i’m interested in how it’s going to be introduced! and i wonder how ML will react when she tells him it’s whale vomit that she’s willing to spend big bucks on ?
