I agree with @AMarshmallowOnTop. Though the typical cliché of the mc getting abused simply because they’re illegitimate or that their mother died in childbirth is stupid in itself and annoyingly overused, they’re better than the mc being treated like shit because she’s “useless”.
I mean some parents tend to overwork their children for their own personal advantages, but if this was the case, I hope she can go more in depth about why her father treats her like that.
And I wasn’t expecting much of the white lotus little sister anyways, after all most of them are cartoonishly evil and have no real motivation to their actions except jealousy.
Nonetheless, this story seems really generic and I feel like I still don’t understand the story despite it being explained to me. Either way, I’m still gonna read because I am a hoe for revenge stories.
I don’t have the patience to see her going through her whole childhood again before ripping apart the black magician girl. I know there are a couple other series that have the “scheming sister takes the place of FL” trope but here the sister is so cartoonishly evil and the family is super shitty it’s unbearable. And it just makes zero sense why her father even treats her so terribly. “She’s useless”. Really? That’s the best reason the author can come up with?
