I don’t think it’s about him liking weak women. He was just disturbed to see someone whom he has known suddenly seem like an entirely different person. It was beyond her being “strong”, but more that she wasn’t behaving like herself. This was also why Giselle and that other man whose name escapes me reacted the way that they did. Ludis appeared very cold and even seemed capable of killing someone (which she will inevitably do) but even through everything else.. she had never once behaved that way before.
