I have theroy this may not be correct but this is what I think so I believe that the maids family went bankrupt and we’re struggling majorly but then the duke help the maids family on one condition (or she may have asked to be a maid to return the favor this is likely as well ) and of course the maid saw the duke as her savour and developed feelings towards the duke because of the way he helped her left a positive veiw thinking that the duke thought the maid ( sorry I keep calling her the maid but I don’t wanna spell her name wrong) was special as for he probably was being his real self around everybody else but then one day the duke came up with some sort of plan that involves the FL (it will probably make the duke act like he loves his sister but then after a while he will get attracted to her indifferent personality which will lead the duke to wish to make her only act loving towards the duke) and knowing that the maid likes the duke he chooses to use her as for he knows she won’t betray him but soon gets jealous realizing the duke actually didn’t treat her as special as she thought he was which leads to her desperately clinging on to the duke begging for the attention she wishes for and in the end she knows the duke doesn’t love her but she doesn’t want to admit it so she thinks of an exuse it’s like this ” the duke loves me ? Surely he does I did nothing wrong it’s all her fault not mine yeah he loves me ” she is too scared to face the harsh
Truth so there for her sadness turns into angry but she cannot be angry at the FL otherwise the duke will dislike her more but eventually the angry piles up and up until she cannot hold it in anymore then she realizes that she can hurt the FL as long as the duke doesn’t find out but her plan has two possible outcomes they are both equally likely to happen 1 her plan back fires and the FL will not stand the physical abuse ( I think this is likely considering that the FL gave the maid a warning and she seems like the type of person not to allow abuse) or the other outcome which is the FL doesn’t stand up for herself ( the reason this one is an option is she may believe that the duke will not stand up for her since she silently dealt with the others who abuse her not physically I don’t think I may be wrong but that was when her mother was around so just be aware she was only doing that for her mothers happiness
damn this is confusing..who even is the maid? Like who is she? Childhood friend of the duke who her family got bankrupt or something then asked the duke if she could work as their maid? But is actually inlove with the duke?
