He definitely needs to learn to respect others and not abuse his power but I do feel sorry for him. They are the same age or close, right? Honestly she’s the weird one here, for a 7 year old. It isn’t unusual for a 7 year old to act like him, especially with the lack of oversight by a responsible adult, and an obvious lack of decent role model. Kind of makes me really dislike the duke, especially since he is basically pulling the same stunts, using his power to make others do things they don’t want to, just he does it with pretty words and no overt violence. But he us the ultimate power there, so he has to know that there is an underlying threat to all he says and does. But back to kid, everyone (in the story, I mean) is now all “omg he’s so weird …at 7?) instead of seeing it through the lens of “she’s the first person who has ever cared enough to correct him”. And we know she did it because of past life trauma, and just being a decent person, but everyone else thinks, and if the translation is right (always a question) she actually tells them, with the other kid there (I’ve forgotten his name, poor guy) that she does it because she cares about him.
Epically long comment, but yeah, I feel kindvof sorry for him. It’s pretty obvious he’s liked her from the beginning and just doesn’t know how to show it properly and honestly, though I might get some flak for this, some of the responsibility is on her. She’s an adult inside, he’s a little kid, and she never calls him on anything, or even tries to have a real conversation with him before this point. So she never gives him a chance to think about his actions and/or explain them. Like, he keeps shoving food on her as a caring gesture, but she just immediately assumed he’s torturing her. But then, she obviously didn’t come from a family, either time, that’s first response to seeing you every time is to push food on you out of love. lol
