Once again, they are mixing up the terms maid with Lady-in-waiting. Noble ladies don’t do any real work, they are Ladies – in -waiting. Their “job” is keeping the Princess amused and talking to the servants since thats below a Princess to do. Commoners are maids. They do not speak directly to royalty. Unless they want severely punished.
