That’s the things gurl the Prince will definitely ruin the Dukedom itself. He’ll destroy them until their names were erased in the world. How about all the hardwork Helga put in just to be build her reputation? Honestly I don’t need the Prince help too, her plan is already good enough. I like this as a revenge because it is merciful without being truly merciful. She has cognitive dissonance when it comes to her ‘sister’ we saw it even in her first prayer she wished ill on Hyllian and then changed it to just please don’t let her take everything away from me. Her father is basically a non-entity to her. She wants revenge on her mother and to some degree that would only be achieved through Hyllian i.e. by taking her mother’s daughter away from her again. Marrying Rohan/Lohan means that her mother’s daughter is no longer of the Yrit household and that her mother holds no rights to her. This is also a somewhat merciful plan because Helga at this point must know as a gut reflex, abusers like her mother don’t just change and that this veil of nicety will eventually break at the unrealistic expectations for the ‘biological’ daughter.
Her plan is so convoluted and extra when she can literally just tell the crown prince what her “mother” is trying to do. He ALREADY sees it. Just tell him and keep your name. He’ll HELP you ruin the Dukes house.
You’re hurting your innocent sister and Lohan who loves you so you can hurt a lady that could so easily be taken down without all that.
I think her revenge is perfect. She doesn’t bring actual harm to her sister. The prestige of her house falls and it’s not revealed that she is a half blood noble, Remember when she expressed her doubts about her best friend accepting her if she found out she was the daughter of a maid, look how they even mention her sister as a country bumpkin who is known to be a full noble. For them to learn about MC’s illegitimacy would bring the birth switch too light and more than likely the nobles would side with the mother. If a mixed blood noble could accomplish all that MC has how much more could Hyllian have, had she not been switched. I just think there a lot more to consider. With her plain Her name Helga would be the pinnacle of her house without her sister getting the credit for any of her deeds because she would either marry the prince as Hyllian or even in the case of her taking MC’s name she’d never be able to live up to the grandeur that Original Helga achieved. Also In this setting what the mother did would be viewed as reasonable and praise worthy she took a half blood noble and made her the crème de la crème of society. So the MC, even with the circumstances of her abuse, may not have sympathy or support even with the prince’s backing. And there’s no guarantee the prince won’t with hold his support if he’s aware of MC’s illegitimacy. We simply just don’t know enough about him in regards to his view of commoners. Walking away(disappearing) is her best option and with the way the MC is doing it she’ll at least strike a blow to the prestige of the family that abused her. Also if she revealed her magic and was dubbed the heir of the duke, the mother would use her illegitimacy as blackmail to control her and let’s not forget she’s a knight even in a one on one fight without the mother pulling her vast resource she might can’t beat her. All these things to consider
Why tf is her revenge so friggin LAME?! Like it’s absolutely lukewarm. She could achieve the same level of vengeance by spreading rumors about the Duchess having an affair. It would achieve the same thing??.

1. The Duke can just adopt another kid to make his heir if they’re forced to marry Hyllian off coz he clearly dont really give af about who his heir will be.

2. The only thing she’ll have is her magic (which itself is a status symbol) but she won’t have anymore backing to protect her against other nobles so she could still be forced to marry into the royal family once its known she has magic.

3. Lohan was one of the only people that sincerely loves and cares for her but she’s willing to throw him under the bus for her “perfect” plan for vengeance rather than relying on him as one of the few that wish to be her ally.
Maybe, “The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass” has spoiled me a bit… but Helga, girl, that is some weaksauce revenge.

Actually it would be smarter to become the crown princess let royalty know what is happening. They charge the duchess with the act of deceiving royalty.
