Yeah, I think she’s avoiding political marraige because as the daughter with the worst birth, she’ll have the worst marriage. And she’s happy, comfortable and rich at home, even if her family hates her. As an illegitimate daughter she’d have no claut in her marriage, powerless at home = powerless in her marriage.

as long as it isn’t an old man, why does it matter if she’s married off or not? One, she’ll get away from her shitty family. Two, her husband probably won’t love her so she’ll have the freedom to do whatever she wants. Three, MONEY. Although she’ll be forced to bear a child, at least she might have a better life there instead of pretending to be someone she’s not her whole life.
Also, wouldn’t acting crazy make her a suitable candidate for a country with no morals since her behavior is embarrassing the royal family anyways? ofc she’ll be sent away, her presence there is enough to make everyone’s blood boil. Rather than acting crazy, she should’ve proposed a marriage to a powerful aristocrat, such as the knight captain dude.

Just because her husband might not like her, doesn’t mean he’ll simply ignore her. Not only that, but there’s too many variables in being married off to an unfamiliar country. Their customs and cultures could either help you or harm you. Plus, it’s highly unlikely that whoever she’s marrying has only one spouse. Anyone familiar with mistress/concubine drama knows that it could even lead to death. And, the possibility of whatever king she would get married to is young as very low. This just doesn’t seem like the type of manhwa where the kings of the other nations are anything but desirable.
And no, acting crazy would not make her a suitable candidate for anything, but the guillotine(in some cases). Her father wouldn’t even consider making connections with a country that isn’t valuable enough, so there’s no chance she’d be married to a bad or poor country. The moral standards of the country doesn’t matter as long as the connection with it has value, so the King wouldn’t care which of his sane daughters are married off to them.
It’s pretty clear that she would be much safer at her home than at some foreign continent. She’s an illegitimate child, has a bad reputation, and is perceived as crazy. Yet, the way she is treated is probably way better than how her sisters in a political marriage are being treated. She doesn’t get physically harmed nor does any of the servants bully her. She’s even acknowledged as a princess. She has a maid taking care of her and a pretty comfortable room. Compared to how other illegitimate children are treated in other manhwas, Melody definitely has the golden spoon. And the only thing she lacks is love from her family which is definitely better than getting sold off to an unfamiliar place with possible worst treatment.
