Whole story doesn’t make sense. Fl has obsession with power and still dreaming about wanting to become empress and that pope has obsession with fl and he will try to manipulate things to get her.
You know what would have been a good choice for this story? That she never fell in love with the pope. Taking into account her personality and all the things the pope is doing it doesn’t even makes sense for her to care even a little about his guts, but as it happens again and again, the author will force a love story that goes against everything that has been set up 🤷🏻♀️ it really is a shame to set up so many good things in the story just to force their love just because “it’s fate” or “she needs a ML”. She could even marry the pope but use him for her own goals and never love him, ending in a relationship based on convenience and it would have been ok for the story! What a letdown….
