I grew up with brothers and boy best friends so I understand men better. They often nod not because they are angry or can’t forgive… But because they are at lost of words. They often don’t know how to respond to sorry since that’s not really the point for them. Your sorry won’t change everything you’ve done wrong. But since they are the man they need to shut up and just forgive them while still blaming and doubting themselves. They tend to question their decisions and their worth. (it’s really hard to explain since I’m not fluent in English 🙂😭 it’s not my first language.)

idk about other ppl but here you could tell that that dietrich just nods because even if she standing there telling him sorry it doesn’t really take back the lengthy year he spent blaming himself, feeling guilt and worried to death about her, he’s still in that circle of negativity and they haven’t had that heart to heart talk together so he can let his distress of this yr she was off out
so sure she said sorry but he’s still gonna be angry about it, he just acknowledged that its fine now, she’s fine now but probably didn’t process it fully yet
