I think I’ve realized the problem I have with FL…
Her opponents are so stupid! Her sister’s plans are juvenile and simple. She’s a one-dimensional villain… And yet FL still can’t ever gain an advantage over her!
There’s a place for underdog protagonists and a place for OP protagonists… but an OP protagonist that’s always losing seemingly just because “plot” demands it?
Her escape began with her disintegrating things left and right and threatening those who’d abused her… but there was just no weight to those actions. Everything feels like a side-plot. Her going to that flame mage’s house, her looking for ML’s family secret, this whole auction thing…
