   Very good story and characters. I actually like how it’s not suppose to be something you insert yourself into. I also like how well the MC is a well developed character and I’m just rooting for her this whole time. She’s relatable and we get to see her grow through challenges. I also like how the ML is complex. He’s bad but portrayed in a way where it’s actually very common and young girls often enamored by these type of men, not realizing it’s a bad relationship. I’m looking forward to learning more about how the MC will mature and realize she wasn’t respecting herself enough back then and finally fighting for herself.

   It’s still early and this might be actual trash later, but as of ch25, I’m disagreeing with the idea that this is an author’s trash novel.

   Trash characters are a thing. Abuse is a thing. Shitty relationships are things. No, this isn’t a story where you want to self insert. But that isn’t what determines if a story is bad.

   Almost every character in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is trash. Almost every relationship in Game of Thrones was abuse. Prince Zuko is Garbage and Sokka is a literal definition of misogyny at the beginning of Avatar the Last Airbender. Trash things aren’t bad to read about especially in fiction. And I don’t think this author at any point makes the abuse and trash people out to be read as anything other than garbage.

   I personally, do think that the author will try to redeem the shitty ML. But I think that’s the expectation of the genre. I do not think the FL is as weak as others say. Tbh , people saying she doesn’t change are missing plenty of other things to criticize the author for. Like , the trope of a child being a woman’s anchor to independence. That bothered me. Not because it’s bad, it’s just not my cup of tea.

   However, not being my cup of tea, doesn’t make a bad cup. And so far, I think the author is doing a good job of expressing abuse and how it is in fact harmful, for the younger demographic this is likely for.

   I mean, everyone seems to hate the ML. Which plenty of other abusive leads don’t get because authors romanticise the abuse from those leads. Here, it’s unambiguously abuse.

   I think that’s good. And so, I genuinely feel bad for our Fl. Because this abuse feels real. Unlike the standard isekai abuse of like, “my sister got everything while I got only bread and water 🥺.” Which, while abuse, is barely the surface and never gets fully explored as ABUSE. This story is clear.

   Its abuse. Its wrong. It makes abusers not ok. And the abused cannot simply get over it. Not with an apology. Not with time. But work. Deep work. Which out FL certainly hasn’t had in her measly 25 chapters.
