SPOILER: later when he thinks they both die he isn’t even that sad the sons “dead” and only upset over Rowena because he can always have another son but he’ll never find a woman who fits his fetish as well as Rowena does. Sadly she ends up with him because she’s stupid and allowed her ex husbands (some guy you’ll meet soon) sister to manipulate her into returning to the bastard
