Okay for you all hating him, I think that Arel is actually his SISTER’S CHILD who was SOLD to someone as they’ve mentioned in previous chapters and maybe that guy wasn’t a good guy and his sister passed away while giving birth or something other reason.
So he gets Sad and feel like CRYING when he sees her bcz Arel resembles his sister or exactly is the copy of her.
The reason he said he might kill her can be either, bcz she also have blood of that bastard who was her dad or bcz the typical.
This is my assumption but given the face they showed of his sister it’s highly unlikely that Arel is the duke’s biological daughter
