Now I just realized that these scenes are used pretty often in manhua-style illustrated stories, where most often the male lead experiences illusions/created halluzinations or the like where the female lead seems to either want to seduce him or kill him. Only sometimes the actual female lead (too) is shown a false image/mirage of the male lead.
And just like in this chapter, the male lead usually “answers” by violently attacking or even killing the fake female lead in a bloody way, while the female lead usually gets out of such events by pushing the fake male lead away or even by hurting herself 🙁
