I’m dropping it. It’s a pity because I thought, given the well developed plot and very believable complex storyline it’d have a better resolution, I guess it’s my fault for being so optimistic. This is just another one of those unfortunate stories where FL has to actively forgive the ones that harmed her and still got control over her and her ill mother just because the author pushed her to do it so they could get a move on with the “romance” plot (which btw also brews on FL’s forgiveness over the radical betrayal from the ML). All in all it’s very much a waste of the great potential for a manhwa that seemed to take the circumstances it built seriously, instead of brushing off the abusive past as most do. Sigh.

Genuinely upsetting story, ngl. It’s incredibly entertaining, don’t get me wrong, but it surely is super upsetting. No matter what FL does she’s always trapped by those men that cannot let her go out of their own selfishness and she’s only allowed crumbles here and there, it’s almost worst than having nothing. I’m actually undecided if having the psycho prince be the ML was the most terrible of choices or the most genius. He’s disgusting, but somehow a little bit less disgusting than her “family” (the duke&etc). What I most like in this story is that they NEVER no matter how sympathetic the characters “reasons” and “motives” are excuse the abuse, neglect and deep suffering FL goes through, unlike many other stories her pain is not treated as something to be overcome or that she has to deal with, and her distancing and cold behavior is not her being badass, it’s her defense mechanism against all the hurting. Honestly brilliant work, but incredibly hard to read and keep up with. You cannot, CANNOT help but emphasize and root for her, but truly, she’s fucked at every turn, just as a poor, young girl would be in a misogynistic family that has so much power. It’s very believable despite being fantasy. It’s also the type of story that reveals the scum of the Earth on the comments though, unfortunately.

Oh, on that same note, it’s wonderful how those disgusting ass coward men are called out for their disgusting cowardly behavior. Even though it’s shown to us their intentions weren’t “bad” or that they were trying to do the bare minimum to “protect” FL, it’s still made even more abundantly clear that their actions have only ever hurt her, to the point she is about to break. Hell is paved by good intentions, this is exactly what this manhwa represents.

Bruh, did we read the same manhwa? Cause in the one i read, in the beginning at least, the grandpa and uncle definitely disliked her(or rather her half-blood status due to her mother being a commoner). She was also threatened with her mother’s treatment, seperated from her mother and forbidden from ever seeing her again. So it became cemented in her mind that they hate her so it’ll take time and a lot of heart-to-heart conversations and actions backing up those conversations to regain her trust in said ‘family’. And for one I think they both fall more under Kamidere profile considering their noble blood superiority bs, or even kuudere if I’m being generous. But definitely not a Tsundere cause you need the dere part for that and that can’t exist if they go around talking down on her 24*7. There is a huge difference between a cold temperament and a callous one.
Oh and just because it provides anonymity, don’t go around spreading misinformation and gender stereotyping on internet(especially on a manhwa site cause there definitely are young kids reading here). Men too are capable of feelings and showing them. Most have been pressured into not doing so because they’ve been brainwashed into thinking it’s not ‘manly’. There’s nothing more manly than being comfortable in your own skin to act and speak your own truth. So laugh when you want, cry when you need, sing or dance if you feel like it. Don’t grow up to become emotionally constipated people.

Her uncle and grandfather took her in, but she is so dense and has an illusion that they hate her.
Men don’t show affections well, so they might give a cold and harsh impressions. That’s it.
