Reminds me of the webtoon “This Isekai Maid is Forming a Union”, where this trope is also mentioned as a horrible thing when isekai’d modern-time people buy slaves in fantasy-worlds without even trying to do something about slavery in general or at least punishing the particular slave-trader who they were dealing with.
On the other hand: the son (Ricardo) might actually have dealt with the slave-trader by getting rid of him for good and freeing the slaves, who knows? 😉
