Not sure if this makes it better or worse for you but in the novel he mainly uses it to make the master forget about the love consultations (our ML is shy and insecure). Remember, he doesn’t know that the master is Ciella. It’s also explained that everyone is already under his spell because of reasons (he did not do it). The scene a few chapters ago was not him using his fascination ability ON her, it was him taking it OFF (by reminding her who he is) which I don’t really think came across well.

i am not completely sold on the blonde prince as he has used mind altering magic on the MC which is low as fuck, if she wasnt somewhat resistant to it things would be darker than they already are
