I’m a little frustrated with the FL here. As far as she knew kids were literally dying in a fire at that time and she was stalling the ML and lying to him for no reason. Like he already knows you’re here and Valiant was unconscious. If you really didn’t want to expose something, she could’ve at least told him the orphanage was on fire and told him to hurry or something. I appreciate a goofy, stupid FL as much as the next person, but not when she knows there are kids on fire.

The fire was already in full swing and being put out, so the Emperor being told about the fire wouldn’t have helped much. At most the royal bodyguards would be told to help out, which is barely a few soldiers.
It’s not like the Emperor couldn’t see the fire – the place was lit up like a bonfire.
