If Dietrich really wanted to protect his wife, he shouldn’t have made her a target of spite by fooling around with other women!
It doesn’t look like he gave her guards, female companions or gave her freedom to at least sometimes travel away from the stiffling palace life.
So I really can’t understand how the crown prince remained as a “not such a bad person” in the memory of the female lead…
