Sometimes the fl does stuff that annoys me, but overall I love her personality as an fl. She’s greedy and brutal with a bit of arrogance, but she’s a good person at least. Rather, she’s neither good or bad. She’ll kill someone who wrongs her or anyone else, and I respect that tbh. I haven’t seen too many manhwa’s with female mc’s who kill people, so it’s a refreshing to see those people get a taste of their own medicine. I also like her short temper, cuz I have a short temper too lol
At times, she’ll appear very conceited yet not too greedy or self-righteous(umm maybe a bit actually), she cares about the people around her even when she argues with them constantly. She really has no ambition except to get stronger. To put it shortly, she has a likeable personality that isn’t too annoying and not too nice. Tho she’s quite impulsive and thinks through her fists.
I know this comment is already long, I’m just trying to give a decent review of what I think.

STORY REVIEW: 8/10
It might be just me since I read this entire thing in the span of a few hours, but the story tends to be too anti-climatic or drama-less. Of course, I love the action and everything, I just wish there was a bit more drama, like pestering nobles or family stuff or even past lovers who can’t get a hint. Like the Emperor constantly trying to interfere with her life or just SOMETHING to keep me intrigued rather than just fighting monsters. Ya feel me?
I know we have more chapters to go, but I’m talking about the previous ones so far.
One, I think it would’ve been nice to see her family a little more and watch her eventually grow close to them. Two, the story is a bit fast paced, I think it would’ve been cool to see her get closer to people in her childhood or adulthood and gain more spirits and influence. Or maybe I’m just asking for too much.
The translation gets pretty bad throughout some of the chapters, yet it has improved. The ones messed up are always chopped or the pages are too small or just bad translation.

What do I think of the male lead?
Personally, at the moment, he’s too lackluster and uninteresting. He doesn’t really catch my eye or make me invested, he’s just ‘there’. I’m sure he’ll improve once the story goes on though. It must be me since I’m used to stories with brutal ML’s lmao so it’s weird seeing one so kind and passive. Plus, it might just be my preference. I like gore and stuff.
He’s a pushover, even if he has the ability to defend himself. *A SPOILER*
Like for example, during one chapter, he would rather give all his horses and supplies(such as food and maybe weapons? don’t quite remember) away than beat up the bandits who dared to catcall the fl. Luckily the fl defeated them. Like dude, they’re assholes, just beat them up and turn em in if you don’t wanna kill them. Ur just digging yourself a hole by being so nice to them, they’ll probably come back to kill you someday. It’s not really good to kill anyone, especially if they didn’t inflict any harm upon you, it’s just annoying because the bandits would’ve killed them without mercy so it’s like….what’s the point of not killing them when they would kill you?

For the FL and ML relationship, I think in future chapters they will start to grow as people.
Such as, the Fl won’t be so ruthless and murderous anymore, she’ll stop impulsively killing people. And he’ll learn to become stronger and brave enough to stand up to his father and defeat his brother, and not be so submissive. FL is totally a top in this relationship lol
I don’t exactly ship them as strongly yet, I’m sure I will soon tho.

Characters?
The spirits are the best characters honestly. That’s not an insult to the other characters, I just think they’re funny and cute, especially Ray or Rai. He adds a lot of comedy, and I truly wanna see if he’s actually a high ranking spirit since the fl keeps him secret.
Honestly, the fl’s friend Mia and a couple other characters aren’t in the story a lot so I can’t even give a brief explanation. I like teacher Eiel or whatever his name is, green haired man. And the dean, aka principle of the academy…?
Chad and Lox are enjoyable, mostly Chad. Lox is a bit pessimistic, he likes the fl who saved an entire empire but not the fl herself. I kinda get it though. I’d be suspicious if one of my friends killed more than a dozen people lol Chad is similar to the fl, but you can see he’s more kinder and relaxed, maybe since he’s a dad.

Bad Traits of Female Lead?
She’s impulsive, which drives her to do things that some readers might not agree with. And a bit aggressive, a bit? lol no, she’s very aggressive. In my personal opinion, she’s not too aggressive that you get annoyed. She’s like your inner voice who tells you to beat the crap out of the people who annoy you, she gives me satisfaction when she beats people up. Truthfully, since I like her, I can’t judge her right since everyone’s opinions of her will be different.
It’ll take more chapters for a more in-depth review. I don’t even think this was a good review, these were just my thoughts.
Now, an important question for anyone who actually read my entire comment…..
Do I Recommend?
Most definitely if you like brutal FL’s and manhwa’s to just read throughout the night. I think it’s enjoyable, I read the entire thing after all. Everyone has their own preferences and ideals, so if you want, just read it and see if it interests you. If it doesn’t then oh well that’s fine.

If you really like FL’s with bad tempers but who are strong and smart and kind, then I
full-heartedly recommend ‘Beware Of The Villainess’ aka my favorite manhwa of ALL TIME. It’s already finished I believe so check it out if u got time. Just in case u wanted a recommendation. If you’re a manhwa veteran like me, u probably already read it.

Read it ! You won’t regret it ! It has badass fl cute ml interesting characters . The story which doesn’t revolves around toxic parents family and relationships . There’s romance but it’s not main focus which is the best .

Comment update:
I just read until the latest update (chapter 84) and I must say it is a journey. I love the FL, she is so human and flawed. She just does what she wants doesn’t give AF. She doesn’t care too much about others but from the way she has been living her life so far it is explainable. I mean, she spends most of her time with the spirits she summons so it would be very easy for her to just lose touch with humanity.
I have a feeling though that her character progression will have a lot of bearing in the story plot wise (and also on why summoners are very rare). While her moral compass is skewed, it is nice to see how the ML keeps her balanced. Mind you though that if you come here looking for romance you will be sorely disappointed. This is a story about a female summoner, and if she does find love it makes it clear in the story that it is just an icing on the cake.
I cannot wait for an update.

PS.
Gennie reminds me so much of Lina Inverse from Slayers. Not sure if anyone else has made the parralels. And if you like this, you will definitely like the Slayers light novels and anime.

  I made an account just to reply to you. And I want to say kudos for all that effort of writing down your thoughts on this manhwa. Reading it hyped me up. If someone can be passionate enough to leave a review that long, it is likely that this story is worthwhile. That said, I am diving in!
