The duke is simply stupid and cruel, and is showing his ignorance.
Firstly, whilst it is true that a horse can gallop for a whole day, this is only possible under certain circumstances. The horse must be of a breed suited to endurance and undergo specific daily training… which is not compatible with that of a war horse (in our region, the Percherons). Furthermore, it must rest regularly for 40 minutes to an hour to allow its heart rate to drop. And this must be adjusted according to the difficulty of the terrain… so what is described is simply not possible…
Secondly, with wounded horses and men, what the Duke intends to do will lead them straight to their deaths.
The Duchess is the only one to have made a sensible decision…
Given everything I’ve seen in the previous chapters, I can safely say that the Duke is an arrogant arsehole who would have died ages ago if he hadn’t been given such a massive plot-armor advantage.

Fl is immature & ignorant due to her upbringing & other factors… Duke knows his men, and knows their limitation you cannot put halt whenever you please, if you will be concerned about everything & everyone everytime you are done for, he is Clavaria’s hero who have proven himself time after time yet FLs ignorance is….. I get it she is self-rightous but not only she is short-sighted but also do not hild her end of bargain, she is also very poor to judge character of ppl around her! can she use her brain for once….?
