Ok, being the devil’s advocate here – he married FL and she was a child and he wouldn’t touch her until she was 18. Ofc, he didn’t deal well with her, he should have been more caring and bla bla bla, but I can’t blame him to take a lover of his age and that he liked. He didn’t marry FL out of love, plus she was a child so he couldn’t ofc try to grow some sort of affection (thank God for that, no pedo vibes), so his only fault is neglecting his own work and not try to be respectful towards FL
