I like how this chapter showcased that it’s not the message but the messenger as well as the fact of its not what you say but how you say it. Ethan clearly asked an “offensive” question but Aryl didn’t take it that way because she could sense his sincerity. And although Aryl knows the cp was trying to be relatable and sincere she felt triggered because of the source and possibly his wording. Telling someone who has been abused,shunned and broken because of their appearance that they are “rare and unique” and equating that to the rarity of being a royal is so out of touch and truly shows his privilege. Small nuances like this are also why every good thing done to or for someone doesn’t equate to love or affection.
yes but the prince was stupid.. what he said was completely false equivalence.. hes saying that his status and his grey hair was a sign of uniqueness as is her white hair and red eyes but everyone knows they both lived two completely different lives.. she was abused HES the crown prince ffs. he shouldve kept his mouth shut
