@Spacetrebushet I think it’s less about being fortunate and having a lovely family. More like you learn from experience. We’re not all naive and innocently pure like the FL, we learn from experiences and don’t stay all saintly and pure forever. It’s about being logical and thinking if the 180 degree change in treatment is possible when they’ve treated you like trash your entire life. Of course I do understand ur point about being desperate, that’s why I don’t really empathise with the FL, cuz despite being desperate, I would always put logic before emotions.
And I definitely don’t have a very happy family, but you do what you can to survive and make your life better, not hanging on false hope and lies. I mean look where that got her.
I truly think that ppl who don’t understand why a person can disregard red flags is very privileged. I can only guess that they have a solid family foundation to fall back on and have never had something anyone wanted to take from them so they can’t understand someone who with nothing to go back too and what a desperate person will do to hang on to any opportunity
