Well maybe I’m wrong and I’ll probably get crap for saying this….but he seems to actually care for her? But because of his sadistic nature (and her not being a masochist), they just aren’t good for each other and she sees him as a monster. Being sadistic isn’t necessarily a bad thing…. as long as the person receiving the pain agrees to it.
