Also, I’ve heard so many successful people subtly bash their own children for “having it easy” when they themselves didn’t but like, wasn’t that your original goal? To make sure your kids have a comfortable life? And then when they do, you suddenly resent and belittle them 🤦♀️

On one hand, they weren’t ever a particularly loving family and that was harsh. On the other, meritocracy is as brutal and fair as you can get.
