I’m willing to bet he liked her this whole time. She’s the reason he’s studying art, and I guess he works extra hard to keep his grades up due to some kind of a compromise with his parents. That’s why his heart was racing when she held his hand, and that’s why he switched schools and academies. He probably wasn’t honest because maybe he knows she doesn’t actually like him.
