I’m just saying I’m confused at why this particular trope is so widespread. So much so that is appears even when it doesn’t make sense for the setting or the characters.
Y’know, someone can criticize/question aspects of a story… without hating it. You don’t have to blindly and unthinkingly consume something in order to like it.
Why do these stories always start out with absolutely trash teachers when there’s always kind and competent instructors so easily available? Like, you’d think they’d put more care into education or even observe some of the lessons.
