sorry to disagree, but I think he’s the only one who actually genuinely cared for her first and foremost. Sure, he hung around Ophelia. Why? Bc she was his fiancee. If you guys can’t notice, he is the type who is very big on “duty”, which is why he’s escorting Elodie.
He’s the best one for her. Out of the three guys, he definitely is the best, and not a coward either, some ppl just don’t confess feelings easily, believe it or not, and as aforementioned, he has a really strong sense of duty, that you could probably rename what he perceives as expected of him. That’s the only hurdle for him not reaching out to her immediately, other than the fact that she kinda ran away.
I ended up rambling, and I probably don’t even make that much sense either. Bottomline: he’s not a bad dude.
