I think her concern is that he’s a nobleman set to marry a princess and the child is illegitimate. Even if he isn’t a problem, his mother certainly will be. When she was at the fairy tree she expressed a hope that her kid could live a normal life, which it definitely won’t if inheritance and politics come into play.
Of course, I may be putting more forethought into this than she did. He didn’t fall for her for her brains after all.
