I mean.. from what I understand, it’s not necessarily her descendants being sacrificed but rather people of another clan being sacrificed, particularly those who are blessed. Maybe there was a deity in atlantis, who knows (tho if there’s a water dragon for kaarton, there’s likely other elemental dragons). As for why people sought to kill someone said to be blessed, it could very well be a thing of either wanting the country to go into ruin from the inside or by eliminating her, they can eliminate the emperor with justification to the people and take the throne for themselves, especially since the curse may very well only pertain to the bloodlines of kaarton and doom (kaarton’s secret lover). Seeing as the girls seems to be grown when sacrificed, it’s likely that the royal family makes sure the leiseiyan bloodline is continued even after the sacrifice so that they can better ensure the chances of future blessed children rather than potentially dwindle the chances. The prophecy speaks about how the fl is the one to break the curse (likely cuz she was the one who cursed them, although likely didn’t imagine it’d be like this since she mostly swore she’d be back for revenge).
