You actually can fight in a corsett, since in a (properly fitting and not tightend to hell) corsett you can move just fine. Though you need to adjust HOW you go about moving, same as when you wear full-plate armor (both are on youtube, including reconstructions (i.e. copies of corsetts/armor) on modern people, cause we can go the easy route of understanding, doing the shit for real and seeing how it is ;P).
But seeing how we have actual photographs and even simple early videos of women fencing and doing the same sports as today, proof is there 😉
There are also (same as modern bras) many different types:
There´s the simple everyday wear that is made to move about the day, walk, run, pick up stuff, turn left and right, carry things, etc. Then theres the fashion corsett that is meant to be all fancy (for the lucky one who sees it and the one who gets to wear it) and yeah, those can be less comfy, same as fancy “I have money” bras that change the shape/place of the chest. There are corsetts for pregnancy that can be adjusted around the belly, and might have had removable chest parts for breast-feeding (not found many yet, so the science-folks still debate, corsetts didn´t always go that high that it was needed). And sports corsetts were simply less boned or boned different (place and material of the “bones”) then the others, same as a sports bra is different to a regular one.
Would the warriors have a use for corsetts? Nope. You can do forward rolls just fine, somersault all you like. But the “squish” needed for desert combat is not quite there Ô.o But then again: European armored knights also fight different to mongolian horse-back warriors, nothing wrong with that o.Ô
