@Amelia Marie honestly in those days corsets were not really comfortable.
I personally don’t like even the modern ones we have today (I own some, every woman does at some point). They may be comfortable, but everyone has their preferences.
@Amelia Marie- Why would you apply modern day logic to a manhwa which has a fantasy-historical genre?!? While there are some modern day corsets that are comfortable! Corsets vary a lot and come in different shapes for different eras. Not all were for hour glass shapes. Some people find corsets comfy and some people hate them. We all have unique standards of comfort.
One of the big hurdles to changing underwear fashion was to get past the idea that it was indecent for a woman to go without a corset, much like the idea of a woman going around without undies today.
@Amelia Marie I believe they meant the traditional corset where you need to tightly bind them to fit into a dress. If I’m not mistaken dresses before is so small to follow the beauty standard and that is why ladies have strict diet and still need to wear tight corset everyday. Modern corset nowadays don’t have to be bind tightly as we have various dress size
I don’t get people’s ideas about corsets I had to wear a full upper body brace for years and have also worn corsets and can tell you corsets are extremely comfortable in comparison, not all corsets were tight lace, most weren’t even so no it’s not that uncomfortable
