Honestly, I feel like the rumours spread because of Casien’s feelings for her. As he said in the previous chapters, it seems to me that he fell in love with her. Maybe, just maybe those rumours were because of the servants looking at their close relationship. Still, I don’t blame them because I ship them too :/
I have to say, if I had one criticism of this comic it’s that she let the rumors grow to this level. It’d be one thing if she was ignorant of politics but the entire basis of her character that was established in the beginning was her understanding of etiquette and politics were vastly superior to Jieun. I know she’s changing as a person but this sort of thing shouldn’t have caught her by surprise, if she’d anticipated it that would be one thing but not seeing it coming at all is a bit poor in consistency with her characterization
That said, i still like Tia a lot and i get why she’s so desperate to have friends (and lbr people spreading ‘those’ kind of rumors about a 13 yr old should be flogged) but I really like the Tia who understands politics better than the Tia who doesn’t get why the fiancé of the crown prince hanging out with potential suitors, blatantly and in public, while calling them by their first names (and in that stupid celery’s case, a nickname) would cause a stir :/
