is it unlikely? I imagine that a lot of high profile people interact with each other, and one that knows the future, would naturaly join that circle and as someone new, will attract a lot of attention.
There are a few situation that are more improbable, but plot armor is fine most of the time.
I mean, I don’t want to read a story about losing and failing.
