Yep, I totally love this chapter! The young emperor is right in everything here. Of course the female lead was actually selfish – she wanted to redo the damage her cat has caused, and she wanted to flee afterwards.
It’s okay for the female lead to be selfish, since she knew that a witch is in great danger while living in the palace; so we shouldn’t hold that against her. People are already suspicious, and more and more want her dead.
If the female lead really loved the male lead, she would rather want to find a way to free him from this obvious curse that lets him live in a nightmare where everything and everyone looks like a demonic creature.
We all know it will come to this. But I do like the rocky path towards this endgame.
Too bad though that this male lead can be quite the tyrant, as we saw when he stormed into the apothecary at the beginning of the story… This element of the story – a usually cold and even tyrannic male lead – is too cliché to be enjoyable, because it adds a constantly looming shadow of fear for the female lead who can never be sure if she will be killed if this guy stops loving her 🙁
