I found the rest of the chapter somewhere. This is weirdly addictive. The FL is forced to procreate or she will die. In the first chapter, she saw a dying beastman and decided to jump on him. She said she couldn’t save him but could at least make sure he would have an offspring. (So in the FL’s POV, it’s a win-win situation. He gets to have a child, and she gets more time to live.) But the FL didn’t know this beast wasn’t actually dying and immediately healed himself, but the FL was already gone.

I’m into characters who yearn for and chase the FL (both loyal, smart, and dependable), so I find this appealing even though the setting is undoubtedly weird. The FL took only, I don’t know, 20 days.. it’s definitely less than a month before she gave birth. In human logic, that’s insanely short. But again, they’re not humans, so human logical rules don’t really apply to them.

When it comes to marriage, there are two types. One is the usual monogamy, and the second is polygamy but reversed (a female having many husbands). This is due to the lack of females with a strong fertility rate.

If not, unfortunately, they’ll become playthings, which is the worst-case scenario. It’s a hell for female beast because they have to take in as many beastmen as possible until they give birth. They get paid (foods and resources to live) but it’s still exhausting. Beast people subjected to this usually die earlier.

The female beast only need to give birth and the husband do the nurturing and providing since in their logic sense female is weak (doesn’t inherit talent/aka powers like elementals) to defeat demonic beast or hunt their own food.

The most redeeming part of this story is that the FL is smart. Who doesn’t like to support a FL who is not only cunning but also knows her own worth? (P.S. She also knows she’s being scummy for not wanting to marry one husband and only wanting to have children (she wish to be independent cause her goal is to go back to earth) But if a beastman can accept that, she’s willing to take him in as her husband, meaning he marries into the female’s family instead of the other way around.) But again the children belongs to the male husband. Also, the FL can learn skills due to system and now have the rare fire type (green rank – 2nd to slowest). So yes, she is indeed unique but not perfect.

I don’t see many stories like this that completely challenge the norms. Weird, but strangely addictive. Good for past time reading but I expect it to be repeatative. (P.S I do wish to see the children though. Childcare is one of my favorite genre.)

Otome game where her only goal is to get pregnant and survive. It’s a weirdly addictive to read. The FL isn’t an idiot and seems to adapt to her circumstances well. She accepts that she doesn’t have a choice or she will die. So she makes the best of a hard situation and it makes for a fun read. She acctually considers her situation with a strong mind and make calculated decisions.
