Honestly I was figured athel’s mom died (I forget if he said anything on what happened to her) or something and the emperor had two wives. Also I thought maybe the image was of an adult liter with the empress cuz I forgot what the emperor looks like or even if I saw the emperor in previous chapters
The queen had black hair at first, if you look at the old chapters, I forgot which ones though. I’m guessing that’s how Atel I think his name was, or the dragon prince has black hair? Maybe she dyed it either because of the emperors orders, or to look like liter, or because she doesn’t want to resemble the dragon prince because she’s that horrible.
