Nonetheless I think he’s been raised by the high priest for most of his life, and therefore he’s very emotionally manipulated, so he has room for growth and character development.
Why even make such an incrimination necklace in the first place, and leave it with those commoners? Yes only nobles can use magic but what if that evil woman sold it off and a noble got their hands on it? They could have used it as blackmail or to kill him if they wanted to. What is this princess even thinking if at all?
There r other ways to protect her even if it’s not by acknowledging her, he could still have made sure she was safe but instead due to his cowardice he abandoned her not 1 time, not 2 times but 9 TIMES
