Ngl… I kinda wish she hadn’t looked back. If she hadn’t, here’s what I think would’ve/could’ve happened:
{Canaria leaves, and Cesar goes to war. He wins and becomes the crown prince. Time-skip a few years, one, maybe three, and he goes looking for her because he can’t get over her. She’s living in a far-off town, trying to get over Cesar while also being harassed/pursued by a man in that town. She continues to say no to him, but he’s persistent.
News reaches that town that the Crown Prince/Emperor is looking for a woman/his missing wife. Canaria, worried about causing even more chaos to the story/plotline, considers/tries to leave the town she’s living in, but her persistent suitor keeps interrupting/stopping her. When Canaria, finally, in the middle of the night, is ready to leave, the suitor stops her again, and they’re in the middle of the road or smth.
Cesar, after months of searching, enters the town, and hears arguing and shouting. He goes over to see what’s going on, and lo-and-behold, he sees Canaria, his dear wife, arguing/fighting with a man, the man being quite forceful, having a tight grip on Canaria’s arm, and refusing to let go. Cesar rushes over and yanks the suitor away from Canaria. Canaria looks at him, they lock eyes, and there are shimmering flowery details around them with doubles of them, but faint and large.
The suitor gets up and demands why this stranger is bothering him and “his woman.” Furious, Cesar looks at him and asks, “/Your/ woman? She is /my/ wife.” Suddenly, Cesar’s men show up shouting, “Your Highness/Majesty.” and the suitor realizes who Cesar is, and by extent who Canaria is, and realizes that he’s f-cked.
Cesar pulls Canaria away and tries to convince her to return with him, but Canaria refuses, afraid that her going back with him will cause everyone she cares for pain, and feeling that she isn’t worthy of being Crown Princess/Empress. They exchange some sweet (maybe sappy) words and Canaria cracks and breaks down, confessing her feelings for Cesar and how sorry she is for hurting him and leaving. They kiss and they return to the palace, both elated to be together again.}
Now that’s what I wish happened. It’d have been good, right? Sure they may have (emotionally) suffered, but that makes they’re reunion that much more sweet and heart-touching.
Oh heck yea~ I much prefer if she doesn’t look back just like the other romance manga that I read, where the FL and ML had a misunderstanding which lead to FL To leave because she thinks it’s better to leave for the own good of the ML
