Usually things like this among children are due to the parents, so yeyul’s mom is probably docile while the 3rd princess’s mom is aggressive. Fights among concubines are common in stories where a ruler has multiple spouses, especially when there’s the possibility of the most liked concubine becoming the official wife/queen/empress. Of course with how the father is, the children also crave affection from him and so seeing a child be favored can sour things as well. So overall, the core cause of the issues among the children is the fault of the parents, primarily the emperor tho as he was the one who chose the mothers to be his concubines. Yes his advisors push him but, if my memory is correct, concubines are usually for calming the nobility (or rather turning their attention towards getting a concubine from their family to rise the ranks) or to ensure there will be a heir to continue the kingdom (although in such case, a child from the official wife is still prefered)

I low-key said the same thing. I was like”How the hell do these children have more influence over the emperor than his own wives”. Speaking of wives- where are these children’s moms? I haven’t seen any concubines since that last one was dragged and killed. And who knows, that concubine could have had a child and the emperor killed her for something so trivial. The more I think about it, the more appalling the emperor is becoming.
