@Eveaustria I think it’s pretty much clear that Theo believed iris that mia has been lying all along. While he may not have trusted right away, after getting iris’s letter that she would be taking care of her because nobody taking care of her, he just instantly threw away mia. And Theo actually has reason to trust iris on this one because while iris might be like a puppet of his grandfather to Theo, iris and his mother are very close and Theo seen them together before. So he knows that iris definitely wouldn’t lie when it comes to his mother even tho he might not believe it right away. And in this case, after iris sent her letter to Theo about her being neglected and iris herself would take care of her, he just threw her right away because he believes iris on his mother more than mia and he dislikes mia and forcing himself to act fine(I’m a way you can say mia is technically harassing him and ml just keeping up because he needs to if he wants to protect his mother). So when ml realized mia was lying and iris herself would look after his mom, he no longer needs to keep up with mia’s bullshit. And I don’t think madam Lana would have died. She was getting better after leaving the duke mansion and up until the point of meeting grandpa duke. And besides they left their domain and moved to capital not just because of work but also because there is less influence of grandpa duke in capital. So ml and fl has more chance of protecting mommy Lana here in capital which was exactly why they were trying to bring her there.
Finally SOME communication. Even though it’s not even clear if Theo actually believes Iris that Mia has been lying all along.
And yes, you can never know for sure if something would really have turned out “better” if you had acted differently. Maybe the duke wouldn’t have said something cruel right away if Iris had stayed, but who knows what else the duke would have ordered his people to do instead… And poor Madama Lana very likely would have died in the end anyways 🙁
