For your info if it stayed that way then madame lana would have been in danger of psychogenic death. It is the complete collapse of the mind leading the person to lose their drive to live and eventually withering away to death. That would have been the fault of the grandfather which is unvorgivable because this is one of the worst fates a human can meet.
