see this right here is what sets this series apart from the rest. you come in thinking gongja is just another smug bitch protagonist who will only get MORE smug the stronger he gets, but no. the stronger he gets, the more his social circle expands, the kinder and gentler he is. his entire ability is centered around reaching out and understanding the suffering of people around him. he was always a gentle soul but this finally gave him the power to act on it. i don’t know that his selflessness is good for him in the long run, but he’s just… genuinely a sweet kid living out his power fantasy of helping as many people as possible
