Thats it? The big big big murder/r*pe crises which were literally torturing MCs is sloved just by a pity excuse of love and guilt from a character who was barly playing part in story? I mean… the knight didn’t get any special attention or recognition throughout the story to carry such big task in plot and to be honest it’s sad cause its unfair not in “we were attached to the guy” or “nooo he was my favorite” kinda sad. I’m a nobody and my opinion is useless but I have to say I’m disappointed

I agree. He should had more screen time, and probably at least some tension with her. Well, maybe not tension but, you know, her not knowing anything and him loving her from afar and this being show to us.

Quite simply. Larissa wanted to remove anyone that was loyal to the crown prince in an effort to make the empire a vassal kingdom of her own kingdom. That is why she sought out the worst among the nobles, (the ones that did not waver to dress up as a lackey in order to committ murder). And so, it is expected Larissa’s kingdom crown prince to come to settle the thing.
Of course, it would be tantamount to the prince being made hostage of the situation. But DeMare’s kingdom all they need to do is to assure that her kingdom are more than willing to come to peace with the issue as they know Larissa’s idiocy is not the way her king thinks. Then poison her.
when Larrisa’s crown prince arrives, all that will be left to say is that, of course, Larisa was confined to her room as it would be with any other high royalty. denied of any interaction with anyone in order to prevent her from zelous citizens. yet, she managed to kill herself.
that would be it. Larissa’s kingdom can ask for her body to put to rest, but De mare can argue that they want to keep her there to prevent any future problems regarding other diplomatic visitors. It’s hard that they would deny such request.
