I’ve heard a lot of people criticize the priest father, but after reading the last part of chapter 181, I really understand where he’s coming from. He went from being a beggar—basically at the lowest point in society—to becoming a high priest. It’s clear that to rise from the bottom, you have to seize every opportunity that comes your way. That’s exactly his mindset. As for him possibly asking Ari to marry that cheating scoundrel, it’s likely for the same reason. He probably sees this as a once-in-a-lifetime chance to marry a “Duke” who’s only second in power to the Emperor, and he might think it’s an opportunity too rare to pass up.
I believe judging others is fundamentally unfair.
Everyone has their own reasons for being the way they are. Take Cesare, for example—he grew up in a harsh, loveless environment, so the concept of loyalty feels distant to him. The same goes for Father Priest; he came from a background of extreme poverty but, through sheer persistence, managed to rise to the position of high priest. This is also the reason why he is so money-minded. even Villains are heros in their own eyes. so, People, please don’t judge someone so merciless. peace🫰
He lacked vision. There was NO way Ari would take cesare after what he did with isabela. Moreover, it would cause chaos and dissention to have that, as he knows that isabela (where she is) would sow dissention and gossip.
I feel for Cesare. His life was nothing more than a substitution and his mother used him as a pawn in ways it was not even funny. However, it would have been SO different (and probably more interesting) if at least this potential ML would have approached the FL with a cool head and a warm heart; instead of “hiding” stuff, talking to her about them, planning and making a common front. . . Much like what they did when the king decided to marry ari
I utterly concur with you. My intensions when i commented, was not to defend Her Father or Cesare. I might have not said this but I also believe that from Ari’s standpoint both Cesare and her Father are unforgivable; especially Cesare, for causing her so much torment.
