I don’t know… So what exactly is so great about this now?
Mentioning to the guard “You must have had a hard time as an escort”? Like in “Just admit that it’s hard escorting this emperor, huh?”
Angering the emperor unnecessarily at first by not even mentioning him during the Duke’s speech? This could have been avoided by at least dedicating a few welcoming sentences to that royal blondie even before the female lead’s speech. And then comes that patriotic weirdness starting with a legend from long ago, actually praising only the empire and anchestors from long ago instead of the emperor?
“Oppression of the tribes” – this weird trope again. Usually, such tribes are the ones who own or roam the land freely first before it gets stolen from them by newly formed kingdoms and other autoritarian so-called “countries”, because tribes that aren’t united are smaller and even often at odds with each other, such vulnerable. And if they fight back, they’re the ones who are called “evil”?!

@Eveaustria did you even read this? Seems like you’re just skimming the chapters and just looking at the drawings

If I hadn’t read this, how could I quote several sentences of the dialogues then? Did YOU think a little before replying to my ponderings?

I mean it literally, the story told us directly and indirectly what’s “so great” about this. It’s not about how the speech was delivered, but hiw they went about solving the situation with the crown. The House was pressured to put Wilhelmina to speak even though no one wanted that, and instead they manage to keep up appearances in their own ball by dividing what was supposed to be a full speech (greetings + western praise by Mikhail and the patriotic ode to the crown by Wilhelmina. Her speech was eloquent and obviously alluded to historic events as well as openly praising the figure of the king, obviously his loyal followers (and I thought it was clever that the faces moat touched by it were from the /soldiers/ specifically) that are most patriotic and loyal to the crown would like, specially after they were ready to criticize after the pause between the speeches. As the audience who knows the full situation we weren’t supposed to be impressed by FL’s speech, but by her cleverness in finding a way to keep the dukedom’s dignity while still pleasing the crown (and following the king’s command).
