like so many ‘modern day’ characters who are just…. completely comfortable with child labor, slavery, and even enforce the hierarchy by “showing the maid what her place is” and shit like that???? why arent there more where the protag is HORRIFIED that the maid should “know her place” at all??? and i dont mean the naive protag who just makes the nearby maid her friend, i mean actually sitting there, looking at the society and going “fuck, this is fucked” the way that this chick is. even just the acknowledgement is so refreshing LOL i hope she actually tries to do something about it but tbh im happy just to have a protag acknowledge that this is bullshit and to be on the side of the working class LOL
