I think the part that the imperial dessert is not delicious is way too much. Imperial chefs are the best of the best in the kingdom. I can understand if hers is more delicious, but to make desserts made by the chefs ineligible to eat doesn’t make sense
So did the nobility just forget that fruit exist? Savory snacks?
And, of course, no one thought to write down recipes and hide them. Or visit (from) other kingdoms.
The more they emphasize this, the less I can hold my suspension of disbelief.
